We are currently calling for more contributors to help us in delivering more content to the community.

LambdaGeneration is a community-managed site which focuses on covering a range of topics across the Valve community, from official news to community projects.

In an effort to improve our coverage beyond Half-Life, we are looking for anyone who is interested in the following areas:

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Official news, map reviews, general news
  • DOTA 2 – Official news, events coverage, community projects
  • Left4Dead Series – Official news, modding news, map reviews, community creativity eg.fan-films
  • Team Fortress Series - Official news, map reviews, community creativity
  • Portal Series – Modding news, mod/map reviews, community creativity eg.fan-films, artwork etc.
  • Garry’s Mod - Official news, modding news, playthoughs, gamemode/map reviews etc.
  • Source/Hammer – Tutorials for both GoldSrc and Source projects
  • Steam – Official news about updates, sales and Valve-related releases etc.
  • Gaming Industry – General news in the wider industry, discussion editorials about current affairs

In addition to written articles, we are also appealing to anyone who is interested in producing video content, such as playthroughs, mod/map/gamemode reviews and video tutorials.

As a result of being a contribution-based site with no commercial incentive, it is only expected that members are able to be involved during spare time.

In return however, the site aims to give you experience and recognition, whilst also being an opportunity for you to showcase your skills and talent as well as your passion for Valve and the gaming industry in general.

Ideally we are appealing to people who:

  • Can read and write English well
  • Commit on a regular basis
  • Have passion and focus towards one of the subjects mentioned above
  • Can use professional production software well (video content)
  • Don’t put strange crystals into Anti-Mass Spectrometers

If you are interested, please get in contact by emailing admin@lambdageneration.com with a sample of some of your work.

Gabe Newell kicks off TI4.

‘Mods going retail.’ Sounds fantastic, but at what cost?

Remember when Valve gave the Black Mesa team the opportunity to sell their mod on Steam? Many liked the idea, but there were those who were concerned with what implications this choice might have. Should community made content that has always been free suddenly have the chance to be monetized?

We’d love to hear your opinion either on here, or on the website itself.
